Dr. Kwon received Master’s Degree in Oriental Medicine from Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine at the top of his class, and immediately entered into an 18 year long career in academia, lecturing, researching, and supervising clinical staff at Emperor’s College, South Baylo University, Yuin University, Kyungsan University, and Samra University.

Throughout this time, he maintained an effective private practice in which he developed effective and consistent treatment protocols for musculoskeletal and nerve disorders, fertility/prenatal care, neurological disorder and stroke rehabilitation, and gastrointestinal conditions. He further developed his knowledge in Eastern Medicine through both practical application and academics, receiving his Doctorate Degree in Oriental Medicine from Yuin University, and an additional Doctorate in Oriental Medicine, from South Baylo University.

Bringing his extensive knowledge and experience in Traditional Eastern Medicine and a unique scientific-minded integrative approach together, Dr. Kwon has built his practice to operate in smooth conjunction with Western Medicine practitioners, including orthopedists, neurologists, internal medicine doctors, and chiropractors. He has served as a medical staff member at Sherman Oaks Hospital and Olympia Medical Center, and is an active member of multiple medical provider and insurance networks.

Establishing Elim Wellness Center in 2010, Dr. Kwon retired from academia to focus on directly serving local communities by both providing ease of access to acupuncture and traditional herbal treatments, and working to educate the public and fellow medical professionals about the wonderful benefits of Eastern Medicine. Since then, he has expanded his practice, Elim Acupuncture Group, by training and directing highly experienced practitioners in clinic locations across the Southland, from Ventura to San Diego Counties.

Dr. Kwon is board certified by both the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCA) and the California Acupuncture Board. He is the author of Applied Oriental Medicine: Clinical Approach, “14 Channel, 361 Acu-points and Prime Meridian Pathway, and the primary contributor for the educational software, “Q-Puncture V.1.0, A Complete Acupuncture Reference Guide”.

He resides in Torrance, CA with his family and enjoys reading and spending time in the great outdoors. He is available by appointment only in our Torrance, San Pedro and Palm Desert locations.
